Our Story

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” — Matthew 11:28 MSG

In 2020, William and Andrea went on a sabbatical in order to find healing and rest for their souls. They were fatigued, burned-out and broken over the many things they had experienced over the last few years of their lives. They went into the sabbatical asking for restoration but instead returned with a completely new outlook on life.

They sensed there was an invitation from the Lord to live from a place of rest and overflow. The metaphor that best describes what they were envisioning is a journey into a forest. A place that is filled with life — trees, gentle streams of water, lush green. This journey beckons us to sit, rest and enjoy what is in front of us instead of trying to rush through life. To live from abundance and great contentment instead of always striving. To be filled with wonder and joy. To be open handed on this beautiful journey God is leading us on.

There is an entire generation that is living on the fringes of life. Tired, weary and broken. A generation that uses their successes to measure their worth and identity. People who are always striving, hurrying and restless. But there is an invitation from God to live a life that is free of strife, performance and fatigue and instead be His beloved.

Beloved Church is a space where people can find a home in the loving presence of God by centering their lives on the Beloved — Jesus. Our heart behind our community is that people would behold the Beloved, become Beloved and be the Beloved to those around them.
